Cheap payday loans - dealing with shortage of cash

Cheap payday loans take you through the bad patch when you are in a short term financial crisis. Shortage of cash is not an unusual situation for many salaried people. Sometimes you need some urgent cash so badly that a refusal may result in greater trouble. In such kinds of circumstances you can rely on these low cost payday loans. Chances of rejection of your loan application are almost negligible because of very simple qualifying requirements.

Who Can Borrow

To be more precise, you are right candidate for the cheap payday loans if your take home salary from a stable job is more than 1,000 and you have completed 18 years of your age. To make it sure that requested funds can be received electronically, you need to have a valid checking account with direct deposit facility. We can say that qualifying requirements are simplest among all types of loans.

Astonishing processing speed is the prime feature of these payday advance loans. Gap between the moment you submit your application and the time when you receive money in your account is not more than 24 hours. You can immediately pay off whatever urgent bills are creating problems and get some breathing period. Paying back this amount should not be difficult because you can wait till you receive your salary check.

Lenders Do Not Bother About The Purpose But You Should

Lenders of cheap payday loans ask no questions regarding the purpose of borrowing. You are totally free to use this money according to your wish. However, a note of caution here is that you should use this money only for emergency purposes when it is not possible to delay payments. No matter how much efforts you make in finding lowest possible rates, you may end up paying somewhere between 75 and 150 as cost of loan. Definitely, it is much higher than any other conventional loan.

Then, how would you decide whether you should go for a cheap payday loan or not. Ideally, you should apply only when it is not possible to get desired funds from any other source and you are sure that you will be able to repay loan amount on due date.

Draft draught horses - percherons

History

Although the exact origins of the Percheron have been lost over the years, there are several different beliefs about their roots. There are those who believe that this large draft horse is descended from the original horses of the Ice Age. Still others think that it's closely related to the Boulonnais horse that the Romans used to invade Brittany. And a third group maintains that the horse is from a herd of Arabians, or some of the horses used by the Moors during the battle of Poitiers. Whatever one chooses to believe, the consensus among all is that the Percheron can be traced to Normandy at an area called La Perche. Once again, a draft breed has at its roots the Belgian-Flemish blood.

While modern-day Percherons are notable for their heavy draft work, during the 8th century the heavier native and cob stock were crossbred with Arabians and other Oriental horses. The Percheron produced by this breeding made the horses more suitable for riding and lighter draft work. As time passed, the use of a Percheron as a carriage horse developed into the more practical need as a heavier draft animal. The smaller-boned breed of the late 1800s was crossed with the heavier mares of Brittany, resulting in the stockier Percheron that is most familiar today.

Description and Conformation

The preferred Percherons are black or grey but browns, sorrels, and bays are acceptable for registration. Due to the Oriental-type blood throughout their history, while a heavy horse, the elegance of the heritage shows. The Percheron is not as choppy in its movements as other heavy draft horses tend to be. The head is ideally medium sized, has a lean, clean cut, and a broad width between the eyes. While the chest is deep and wide, the shoulders of the Percheron should not stand out prominently, as they tend to do on other drafts. The back is straight and strong in proportion to the neck length and shoulder height.

Today's average Percheron measures 17 to 18 hands (68 to 72 in., or 173 to 183 cm.) at the shoulder. Mature Percherons can weigh from 1600 pounds (113.6 stones) up to, and in excess of, 2400 pounds (170.4 stones).

This breed of draft horse has been acclaimed as being very adaptable in any environment And it is characterized by a long smooth stride which shows determination and willingness. It is also known for its intelligence, affable temperament, willingness to work, and reputation for ease of handling.

Draft (Draught) Horses - The Shire

The last of six articles about Draft (Draught) Horses, this one is about the Shire, and English draft horse which can be traced back as far as the Roman Conquest.

History

The Shire, an English draft horse, can be traced back to the days of the Roman Conquest. The horse has been depicted in paintings, as far back as the 15th century, in full war regalia. There are those who do not doubt that this heavy draft was used by knights in battle. Others, however, do not share this belief. In any event, once the tournaments and heavily armored knights passed into history, the ancestors of the Shire were put to use pulling wagons on the roads and ploughs in the fields. It soon became the largest and most powerful horse in Britain. Still today, brewers in English cities use the Shire to pull beer wagons and, they are used for weight-pulling and ploughing competitions.

Although the Shire was found and developed throughout England, what is know today as the Midlands (Lincoln, Huntington, Derby, Norfolk, Leicester, Cambridge, and Norfolk shires) were where the highest concentration of this draft could be found. As with other draft horses, the Shire bloodline was improved with the mixture of other breeds throughout history. There are relatively accurate records, which date back about 1000 years, that show when the Belgian and Flanders breeds were crossed with the Shire.

The Shire was first imported to America in 1853. In the early 1900s it seemed that the Shire might overshadow the Percheron as America's favored draft horse. However, the Percheron prevailed.

Description and Conformation

The typical colors for the modern Shire includes grey, brown, bay, and black. There is the occasional white, but it is a rarity. The mature stallion stand 16.2 to 17.2 hands (165 to 175 cm., or 65 to 69 in.) at the shoulder and weighs up to 2200 pounds (156 stones). The mares and geldings are slightly smaller.

This draft has the convex, or "Roman", nose. Its eyes are large, wide-spread, and intelligently expressive. The shoulders are large and prominent. The body is relatively thick. And the legs are long with a good deal of feathering around the feet.

Java goes open source

In November of this year Sun Microsystems moved to "open source" status for Java, after a decade of maintaining proprietary status for the portable programming language. Specifically, Sun has placed Java into the public domain by putting it under GPL - an acronym for General Public License. What this means is that software programmers will have vastly increased freedom to develop programs based on Java and to develop modifications for the language itself.

It also puts Sun into the mainstream with other major platform developers such as Linux. While the company had put its Solaris operating system into open source status some time ago, Java is a highly distributed consumer platform and providing open source access to it gives the company a real boost in its standing among its peers. Perhaps more important, it will stimulate further development of consumer oriented Java-based programs. It is estimated that eight out of every ten cell phones have a Java application running on them.

A GPL use requires that any product developed under such licensure be returned to the "open source community" and remain, in effect accessible to all. Sun's variation on this principle has an exception for applications built on the Java "Virtual Machine," a platform that the company made available to software developers some time ago.

What this exception does is allow continued development of proprietary software written for Java, which keeps the language viable as a platform for revenue producing products. Prior to the switch to GPL status, Java program developers had to pay a licensing fee to Sun.

IBM has been after Sun to take Java to open source status for years. Their Works Projects has been a center for the development of open source products, primarily based on Linux. From their perspective, Sun's decision to grant GPL status for Java is viewed as an opportunity to unite with Linux and provide a stronger platform to challenge Microsoft. The politics of software can be enormously complicated, especially when there's an elephant like Microsoft in the house. But what Sun has accomplished with this move is provide an opportunity for programmers to zero in on Java products as potentially large revenue sources.

Unlike Linux, which was spun off of UNIX to provide an alternative to Windows, Java stands in a class of its own. While Linux has survived in the marketplace, it has never mounted a major challenge to Windows. Java's unique qualities and the intellectual property that protects those qualities will now be an open book for programmers developing new applications.

It will also provide the opportunity to bundle Java products with Linux based software. Sun's internal interest in this move is to stimulate more developers to use the language, in order to revive its own internal software business. Since taking a huge hit in their high-end server market, Sun has been struggling to find a new path and has increasingly looked to software as an opportunity.

Sun's EVP for software summed up the value of the move for the company and its product. "People have been hesitant to distribute Java worldwide with Linux (distributions) because of (concerns over) license alignment," Green said. "This is the last gate to ensure that Java will be distributed worldwide."

Spyware detection - the simple facts

Anti spyware software provides the best spyware detection capabilities. Even though programs, such as the Windows Task Manager indicate programs and processes running on your system at any given time, you are not likely to know which programs and processes are supposed to be running. More importantly, spyware may be embedded in other software such that the particular source of spyware is not indicated in the task list. You need spyware detection capability that will continuously monitor your system and seek out active and suspicious programs and processes.

The effects of spyware are so vast that you are not likely to be able to detect the existence of spyware until it seriously degrades the performance of your computer system. Some of the nuances of spyware include its ability to collect and log personal information without your knowledge and then transmit this information to third parties. The types of information collected may range from usernames and passwords to websites visited to social security numbers and credit card numbers. Though the direct effects of spyware may only be to slow the performance of your system, the indirect effect of having your personal information transmitted to third parties provides those parties with necessary information to perform a variety of other activities that may range from sending you unsolicited advertisements to stealing your identity.

Some indications that your system may have been infected with spyware may include any combination of the following:

An increase in disk space usage

Increased traffic that clogs networks

Increased CPU activities

Unexpected application crashes

Total system crashes

A continuous intrusion of pop-up ads

Banner ads, some with annoying flashing animations

When spyware consumes your system resources and you experience crashes and system instability, you are not likely to know the cause of the problem unless spyware detection software alerts you to malicious code. There are also some obvious indications of attempts to install spyware. Detection involves being aware of installation processes and avoiding installations from unknown vendors. If you are in doubt as to whether to proceed with a software installation you should avoid using click boxes provided in installation windows and close such windows using the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the dialog box. Likewise, if a download asks you to install ActiveX components and you are not sure if these components are needed, avoid the installation. Only install software that you want from trusted vendors.

Most spyware detection algorithms include an examination of files, shortcuts, cookies and Windows registry keys for signs that spyware is resident. Detection algorithms also examine processes that are running to seek spyware in active memory on your computer. Detailed reports of spyware detection events are then able to indicate the names of suspected spyware.

Spyware detection software searches registry entries for modifications that are typical of spyware products. The detection software checks running processes for indications of processes that are known to be characteristic of spyware. The software will compare visited URLs, Active X controls that have executed and cookies that have generated against spyware networks included in its database. Some spyware detection software includes checksum or hash algorithms that will check your files against a database of known spyware files. Other spyware detection software will query directory names and file names for a match against those stored in a database of spyware file and directory names. This type of detection is less efficient since spyware may be stored in several different locations with different file names.

The detection mechanisms of anti spyware software will only be effective if the software is updated. New spyware is constantly developed and your anti spyware software must be updated so that the latest threat definitions are included in detection algorithms. Scans must also be run periodically to query against the latest database of definitions. Upon spyware detection, most anti spyware software may be configured to automatically remove or quarantine any infected files. Such software may also be configured to prompt you before taking any action.

Anti spyware software are included in firewalls and other advertised privacy suites and security tools. Spyware detection that is provided as part of security suites tends to be weaker than stand alone solutions. While some spyware detection tools provide more indications and alerts than others to possible spyware, many false positives may result from software that includes methods of over aggressive scanning.

Breastfeeding - how important is it

Years ago, perhaps when you were a child, breastfeeding was not very popular. Breastfeeding was not encouraged as it is in todays society. Doctors didn't fully grasp how important and beneficial it is for a newborn baby. Because of this, and a few other reasons, there were many new mothers that went directly to feeding with the bottle, most often new mothers didn't even try to breastfeed their new baby.

Breastfeeding helps protect and nurture your baby in innumerable ways. There have been many studies in regard to breastfeeding babies and the results have shown increases in brainpower within as little as six weeks of breastfeeding. The study has also shown a reduced risk of obesity due to the fact that breastfed babies are much less likely to overeat than formula-fed babies. Overall, babies that have been breastfed for roughly six months are also less likely to have breathing problems.

We now know how nourishing breast milk is for your baby. Breastfeeding is highly recommended by doctors as well as health care professionals. Further, it's been shown that breast milk supports brain function as stated above and also provides valuable nutrients that would not otherwise be available. Breast milk is very special, every mother's milk is slightly different, tailored to her own baby's needs. A baby's immune system is directly affected by the breast milk of his/her mother.

Every feeding time is an extremely important time of the day, it allows the mother and baby time to bond to each other without any distractions. A new mother will really get to know her baby by breastfeeding and will feel much more at ease with him or her during breastfeeding.

Milk induced sleep is one of the most wonderful things a mother will experience. Newborns love to be cuddled and they also love to eat. When you combine the two you get an extremely sleepy baby who will snuggle up in their mother's arms long after the feeding is over. Breastfeeding will instill a naptime but you'll find yourself continuing to rock your precious little one, it's calming to mother as well.

Babies have a built-in latching instinct, although some babies will not latch properly, causing pain to the mother. You'll detect these problems early on and you'll find that most hospitals have a nursing specialist that will help to determine if your baby is latching on wrong. If you continue to have problems in this area in the first week, you should consult with your doctor. With a little practice you'll be a pro in no time! Hang in there, It's worth it!

Breast milk is not only good for your baby, but it's also good for the mother as well. It has been stated that Mother's who breast-feed their babies for at least six months have shown a dramatical reduction in the risk of various types of cancer including breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Another happy note... through breast-feeding, new mother's will also lose the additional weight she gained while pregnant, and another benefit is that it will also help her uterus contract to its pre-baby size.

All new parents want to give their babies the very best and when it comes to nutrition, the very best "first food" for baby is breast milk.

Although you may experience a few challenges at first while breastfeeding; it will be the best experience a new mother will have. There may even come a time later in life when you look back on this wonderful experience and wish that you had breast fed your baby longer.

Choose a great baby shower theme

Though a theme isn’t necessary for a successful baby shower, it can be a great way to pull a baby shower together. Unsure of what games you should play? Can’t choose between different food spreads? Pick a baby shower theme and all of these aspects of the baby shower will become clear. Here are just a few to choose from.

Hollywood Themed Baby Shower

Your invitations can look like movie tickets. Your games can focus on celebrity and movie trivia. You can even ask your guests to dress up as movie stars, if you like! And of course, hot dogs and popcorn are one choice for your guests or you could go the opposite direction with fare that a healthy minded Hollywood mom would love.

Tea Time Baby Shower

If you’re having a ‘girls only’ baby shower, a fun way to celebrate the new little one is to host an afternoon tea. Decorations need be no more than what your living room already holds or you may opt for a tea house instead. Food can include finger sandwiches, scones, jam, and of course, a variety of tea for each of your guests to choose from. Accentuating the Victorian aspect of a traditional tea is another option as is heading to the other side of the world for a traditional Japanese tea theme for your baby shower.

Stock The Shelves Baby Shower

All new moms will need baby food, diapers, wipes, bath supplies, formula or bottles – and lots of them. Pick one of these as your theme and ask everyone to bring one as their gift or, if it’s a small item, in addition to their gift to the baby shower. Make sure to specify brand or style if the new mom has a preference, especially with formula. If you choose diapers, designate different guests to bring different sizes. The little one won’t be little for long!

Time To Take Care of Mommy Baby Shower

The last thing a new mother wants to do is worry about the basics after she brings home her newborn. Ask everyone to bring something to the baby shower that will help Mom in the tough weeks following the birth. Some ideas include: frozen casseroles, gift certificates for maid services or offering of your own cleaning or babysitting services. Mom won’t feel like socializing, nor will she likely be comfortable giving up her new addition for a whole night out, but if you come over regularly so that she can shower and nap - that is a gift worth more than gold.

Free affiliate program guides

POWERFUL INTERNET INCOME GENERATORS

The internet is a powerful income generator, and of those income sources out there, one of the most powerful internet income solutions is free affiliate programs. Affiliate programs are typically money making programs that individuals can join for free and earn a substantial income from.

I know, that doesn’t make sense, how can you join a program for free yet earn money? The basic premise is simple, while many free affiliate programs vary. Some do require an upgrade purchase while others do not, allowing you to make a profit for every person you bring into the program that chooses to upgrade.

Free affiliate programs are steadily becoming one of the fastest growing trends in internet marketing. Their growing popularity makes them a good choice for internet marketing at this time because the public interest is still so high, making them easier to market. Some people view them as a solid method of learning valuable internet marketing skills without having to dig deep into their pockets for high end marketing programs. Others see them as the absolute source of internet marketing income for the next fifty years.

IS AFFILIATE MARKETING RIGHT FOR YOU?

Regardless of the program venture, it is necessary to meet certain requirements before joining the internet marketing revolution. The basic requirements are fairly simple. Be willing to risk at least a small amount of money on advertising, be willing to take someone else’s advice, and of course, be willing to be at least mildly patient. Dynasties are not built overnight no matter how hard the e-mail in your junk box is trying to convince you otherwise. Pretty simple?

Next in line is understanding how affiliate programs work. Their basic concept is quite similar to that of all internet network marketing plans, you introduce someone who introduces someone else and eventually you build what’s know as a down-line. Down-lines today are also referred to as matrices in order to avoid the negative association sometimes aligned with network marketing. However, the educated network marketer is going to understand the difference between a legitimate marketing plan and a pyramid scheme. There is a huge difference.

The basic and most defining difference between network marketing and pyramid schemes (other than pyramids are illegal) is really quite basic. If you draw any plan out on paper the basic shape you are looking at after you get your two down-line and Jim gets his two and Sally gets her two is inevitably going to look like a triangle. That shape does not constitute a pyramid scheme. If only the circle at the top of your triangle is receiving any monetary reward for his efforts and all the little circles under him are receiving nothing, that is a pyramid and is illegal in the United States and most other first and second world countries.

Now that we understand that what is going on here is perfectly legal, network marketing foes not need to carry a bad reputation. So whether you choose to call it a down-line or a matrix, the premise is the same. You are introducing others to a plan to make money and that is known as network marketing. Affiliate network marketing, and in particular free affiliate network marketing is based on the concept that you can try out the program first without risking your money, and you can invite others to do the same as well. It is quite possible to build a down-line with a free affiliate network marketing plan without having to join the program first, and then upgrade in order to qualify for earned sales on your down-line’s upgrades as well. Again, pretty simple. It’s like test driving the care for awhile before you decide to either pay for it or return it.

AFFILIATE GENIUS

This is really exciting stuff when you think about it. Not only do you get to try out the free affiliate program for free, so does everyone that you introduce to the program. Considering the fact that network marketing of any kind is not the right avenue for some people, it allows the up-line to determine where to place their efforts when working with their down-line. Everybody has a solid understanding before the subject of shelling out any money ever arises, and often success is easier to attain because of that understanding.

All network marketing programs require an education as you proceed, and affiliate network marketing programs are in fact no different. It is imperative that an individual understands their program as well as marketing resources as they begin their endeavor into the realm of internet marketing. Often the educational resources are quite biased and deliver unrealistic promises that can’t be met without first chunking down large sums of money.

So where does one turn to find this much needed education? Luckily there is a resource out there targeted specifically at free affiliate internet marketing programs that can help to answer all the typically unanswered questions. Affiliatepit has the answers to the questions you didn’t even know you had.

AFFILIATE NETWORK MARKETING RESOURCES

It’s not easy to swim out the in a virtual sea of sharks when you’re not even sure which direction to take to find the shoreline. Independent marketing resources are absolutely the lifeboat that is desperately needed in the realm of this endless sea. Please take note of the words, independent and unbiased.

Why are these words so important? Because they are not simply pay to post websites. Affiliatepit. is an independent resource for internet network marketer of affiliate programs to reasonably educate regardless of the affiliate program. They are not teaching you how to market their program and make money for them. They are offering you a wide variety of topics that you need to know without insisting you go off and promote their company. Logic tells us this is a much more reliable source than the program that offers you a wonderful network marketing education when you join their program and market their websites.

Free affiliate programs are popping up all over the internet. Critics say this will ultimately be the death of them, however most marketers who actually make a handsome living from internet marketing vehemently disagree. The onset of the free affiliate program has allowed people to learn without burning, so to speak. The learning curve is much shorter and of course the resources saved in joining a free program is then translated into advertising dollars, making the program more successful overall.

For those interested in joining the free affiliate network marketing revolution but have yet to settle on which affiliate program is right for them, there is a link provided in some of the articles on affiliatepit that brings you right to a list of affiliate programs worth marketing. Choosing the right program is important, so be sure to read the entire article and look before leaping. Many programs have varying rules in how to qualify for commissions.

Each free affiliate program offers a wide range of compensation, so again, find out the information first. Some offer as low as 5% while others skyrocket commissions up to 50%. Some offer a low commission for free members and a much higher commission for upgraded members. It is very important to understand the affiliate program in question when doing you due diligence.

With so many affiliate programs swirling out there in cyberspace, let’s not forget that not all of them swirl forever. Programs do close down occasionally and that leaves all of the industrious affiliates high and dry. Once again, affiliatepit covers this topic well and offers advice on finding programs that project longetivity and real income potential. After all, we started this in order to make some money, not spend years researching various programs.

Successful affiliate programs combine a quality product, a high integrity program, and actual real live support to its members. To discover where these programs exist may take a little effort, but the pay off is well worth the research in the beginning.

Affiliatepit has complied more than simply lists and links to contributing affiliate programs. Their contributors are actual marketers who have done research of their own and are simply willing to share their findings with the rest of us. The value offered in one site is tremendous, and the best part is it’s all available at the click of the mouse.

Perusing the site offers advice you didn’t even know you needed. From the “Pros and Cons” article to the simple and direct “Do you have what it takes” article, there are answers to unasked questions that had yet to even cross our minds.

Work at home programs and successful free affiliate programs can be difficult to come by. The basic truth is that anyone with just a little knowledge can slap together a website and call themselves an affiliate program. Luckily, we don’t have to be swimming out there in the cyberspace ocean alone any longer. With the web based knowledge of affilaitepit’s knowledgeable contributors, we all have a shot at becoming successful and prosperous in the affiliate program surge.

Hello from ontario - a southern ontario tour creemore collingwood and orillia

Late spring is the perfect time for a driving tour, so yesterday my co-workers Vanessa, Khurram and I set off to check out the countryside around Toronto. Neither one of my co-explorers has lived in Canada for very long, so they haven’t really had a chance to discover areas outside the Big Smoke. So this was their first opportunity to venture forth into the hinterland that surrounds our big city.

After leaving the 16-lane frenzy of Highway 401 and a brief ride on the 410 we drove into Ontario’s countryside north of Brampton. The landscape started to open up - farms, fields and forest started to appear. The serene rolling hills north of Ontario’s capital have a subtle beauty to them and I started hearing comments like “this is like a picture book”, “this would be a great place for spending a weekend” etc. The scenery around Hockley Valley and the hilly moraines further north offer quite breath-taking views over Ontario farm country.

Our first stop was in the village of Creemore, a little village tucked away in the Mad River Valley, surrounded by the Purple Hills. The village’s history dates back more than a century, originally supplying Toronto with much needed lumber and later supplying hogs. One of the main attractions today is the Creemore Springs Brewery, a very popular Ontario micro-brewery. After a local breakfast with tea and scones we crossed the street to check out the brewery, and even though two of us are not beer-drinkers, we still had fun learning about the brewing process, combining hops, barley and various other ingredients. We admired the large brewing kettles, two made of stainless steel and one made of copper. Creemore Springs makes a premium lager and during the winter season the brew masters also come up with an “UrBock” version for the festive season.

With our knowledge of beer appropriately augmented we continued on with our country drive, slowly approaching the Niagara Escarpment area, Southern Ontario’s highest geological feature. We stopped in the tiny hamlet of Glen Huron (population 51) where we admired the ancient feed mill of the Hamilton Brothers, dating back all the way to 1874. Just a few steps away was a picturesque water wheel (cheekily fed by a water hose instead of a real river...).

On a hilly area just south of Collingwood we stopped to enjoy the sweeping view that stretched all the way to Georgian Bay and then we continued into the Town of Collingwood, a place that has really become popular over the last few years. Collingwood, its adjacent Blue Mountains Ski Hill, Ontario’s largest ski resort, and its location on Georgian Bay make it a four-season recreational destination. In recent years, the ski facilities have been upgraded and a whole European-style village awaits at the bottom of the ski hill. Downtown Collingwood itself features more than 300 shops and restaurants, waiting to serve discerning travelers.

Our day was short so we continued our drive eastwards towards Wasaga Beach, with a length of 14 km the world’s longest freshwater beach. Surrounding this white sandy beach are many kilometers of hiking, cycling, cross-country and snowmobiling trails. In addition, Wasaga Beach is also a favourite destination of beach volleyball players. We got out of the car, and on this breezy blustery day (it couldn't have been more than 12 degrees Celsius) you definitely needed a warm wind-proof jacket. I admired the para-sailers, daredevils who braved the cold waves of Georgian Bay.

The highlight of our day was yet to come: after a veritable traffic jam in the city of Barrie, we squeaked into the Town of Orillia just in time to make it onto the Island Princess, Orillia’s famous double-decked river-style cruise vessel, capable of holding 230 passengers. On this cold and increasingly rainy-looking day there were only about a dozen of us, but we enjoyed the narrated tour around Lake Couchiching. Lake-front living is popular, and we found out that most of the houses around the lake now sell for C$750,000 and up.

After our hour-long exploration by boat we disembarked and went on a relaxing walk through the parklands right next to the shores of Lake Couchiching. An imposing monument to Samuel de Champlain graces the waterfront parks. Several young children were actually swimming in the cold lake waters, proving again that Canadians do indeed have anti-freeze flowing through their veins.

Our brief waterfront walk was followed by a much-needed stop for ice-cream in one of the lakefront sales trailers. Close by and right across from the Island Princess’ dock is another Orillia attraction: the Ossawippi Express, a seafood restaurant featuring several fully-restored, turn-of-the-century railway cars dating back to 1896 with an outdoor patio overlooking Orillia's Lake Couchiching. We had a sneak peek at this unique dining concept and all agreed that the Ossawippi Express would be the perfect restaurant for a special event.

Off we were back in the car, driving back towards Toronto on the east side of Lake Simcoe. South of the lake we were back in the hilly moraines and we stopped briefly at a local country store called Hy-Hope Farms to pick up some gooseberry and rhubarb-strawberry pies, a sweat treat to remember our country drive…..

What are credit card fees

Credit card companies are in the business of making money. It really is that simple. They earn their money through two principle methods. One is through the finance charges that they levy when you make purchases on the card, and the other method is through the use of credit card fees. It should be understood that these are not one in the same. They are different, and knowing more about the fees that a company charges (or does not charge) its customers can help you save money.

Credit card fees can (and do) vary from one company to the next. There is no set schedule for credit card fees. This makes it very important for consumers to read carefully the literature that is supplied by the company in order to know exactly what you will be billed for during the course of your association with the company.

Some of the more common types of fees include:

Annual Fees: Many credit card companies are moving away from this particular fee, but there are still some that use it. The annual fee is generally just a yearly fee, billed monthly, for having the card. Whenever possible, you should avoid credit card companies that charge an annual fee. You get nothing but the card in return for this payment.

Set Up Fee: This, too, is becoming less popular with most companies, meaning they do not charge it any longer. Again, however, there may be some companies that do charge a fee for setting up your account. Read carefully exactly what the fee is and the explanation that the company offers for charging this fee. You may find that working with another company that does not charge this initial fee is a good idea.

Cash Advance Fee: This is one fee that you will find with many credit card companies. This fee is applied to your account if you take a cash advance from the card. It can be a flat fee or it can be a percentage of the cash amount. Keep in mind that this is in addition to any finance charge the company will levy as well.

Late Payment Fee: This fee is assessed when you make a late payment. The trigger date for this fee is the "due date" as it is stated on the bill.

Transfer Balance Fee: Not all companies will charge this fee, but some will. This fee is levied when you transfer a balance from one credit card to another one.

Exceeding the Limit Fee: This fee may be assessed should you exceed your credit limit. Modern technology has made it harder to exceed your limit in that online approval or disapproval from the company is immediate.

Increase Limit Fee: Some companies will charge a small fee when you want to increase your credit limit. Not all do, but some will want to charge this fee.

Bad Check Fee: As with most companies, if you send a bad check the credit card company will usually want to charge for this.

These are just some of the possible fees that a credit card company may charge to your account. It is important to read their literature carefully in order to know what they will charge for and what they do not charge for.

Ayurvedic body type and diet recommendations

Ayurveda recommends foods for people according to their primary body type. The reason this is done is because it is believed foods can be both healing, and the source of imbalance and difficulties. By eating foods according to our Ayurvedic body type, the belief is that we will accumulate less Ama, or waste, in the body.

In Ayurveda, people are classified according to three principles, vata, kapha, and pitta. But it's important to understand that although we may be dominant in one principle, we actually have all three present in our body. The others are in a smaller ration. Most people will actually be a combination of two of these principles, with the third only playing a minor role. But because we all contain the three, any of them can get out of balance.

Pitta

Characteristics of Pitta dominant body types

* determination

* strong willed

* good digestion

* initiative

* energy

* passionate about many things

Ayurveda's Pitta constitution is calmed by cooling foods, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. Bitter green vegetables like watercress, parsley, collards and most greens suit pitta. Fruits that suit pitta body types include sweet berries, sweet apples and apricots, coconut, figs, mango, sweet oranges and pineapples, plums, watermelon, pomegranates, and prunes.

Other cooling foods include most dairy products, though sour cream, hard cheeses, and yoghurt don't really suit pitta due to their being too high in fat, salt, or sour. But dairy that suits pitta includes milk, cottage cheese, soft cheeses, and ice cream!

Grains that suit pitta body types include barley, basmati rice, and wheat (unless you are allergic or gluten sensitive).

Pitta body types generally like a lot of protein, and they probably need a little more than the other Ayurvedic body types. Spices that are cooling in nature are also important. These include coriander, cumin, mint, parsley, dill and fennel. Garlic should be avoided though as it is too heating.

In terms of sweets, Pitta body types should use maple syrup, barley malt, brown rice syrup and honey that is 6 months or less old, preferably raw.

Things that can imbalance Pitta body types:

* excess heat, hot climates, and hot times of day

* humidity

* vacations and times when there is increased mobility

* excess oil in the diet

* too many hot foods, including spicy foods. But this can also mean too many cooked meals

* excess caffeine, salt, red meat and alcohol

Vata

Characteristics of people with a dominant Vata body type:

* flexibility

* quick mind

* creative

* always on the go - mentally and physically

Dietary choices that support vata aim at grounding this energy-in-motion. Routine is also very helpful, though not naturally something vata body type people will create! Vata people benefit from meditation, warmth, soothing music, taking breaks, and resting (again, not a natural vata inclination!).

With regards foods, vata body types should include warming spices, including ginger and cloves, anise, cayenne, cinnamon, garlic, horseradish, caraway, mint, mustard seeds, parsley, cooked onion, paprika, rose water, vanilla, tarragon, thyme and rosemary.

People with the vata body type should minimize raw food, including salad, though salads should not be eliminated completely as they provide valuable nutrients. But vata should ground the salad with a dressing made from oil and vinegar, and be aware of the weather at the time of eating it. Being more sensitive to cold, vata's should have salads on warmer days.

Icy cold drinks are not balancing for vata - in fact quite the opposite. Sugar also throws vata types off balance, though vata are lucky in that they can enjoy other sweets.

Vata generally love fruit, and it suits their ayurvedic constitution. The exceptions are apples, pears, cranberries, watermelon and dried fruit. Vata types should go for sweet and moist fruit, like mangoes, nectarines, bananas, coconut, fresh figs, peaches, and strawberries.

Cooked grains like oatmeal, basmati rice, and brown rice, are very grounding for the vata ayurvedic constitution. Beans (legumes), on the other hand, are not! Beans are cold, dry, and heavy - not the attributes that support vata.

Things that can imbalance vata dominant body types include:

* a lot of travel, especially by plane

* loud noises

* constant stimulation

* drugs, sugar and alcohol

* cold climates (especially extremely cold ones) and cold food

* frozen and dried food

Kapha

Characteristics of people with a kapha dominant body type:

* strength

* stamina

* endurance

* groundedness

* calm

* fluid

Kapha body types are not suited to a high protein diet like the Atkins diet. Not only should they avoid too much fat, but also, excessive heavy protein. The kapha quality is already heavy, and although this doesn't sound great, it is what provides Kapha body types with a wonderful stability and strength.

Kapha should have light and low fat protein. Beans, with the exception of soy and soy products, are great for kapha. Soy milk is preferable to dairy though, for kapha. Beans help move kapha's energy, and digestive system, a bit. Barley is also excellent. In terms of meat, chicken and turkey suit kapha.

Kapha body types should have plenty of vegetables, including bitter vegetables, peppers, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, eggplant, lettuce, onions, potatoes, mushrooms, corn cobs, peas, beets, and celery.

Dairy is heavy and cooling, and it does not suit the Kapha ayurvedic body type. Light and crispy food, like corn tortillas and popcorn, suit kapha. Kapha people should make sure they have variety in their diet, as kapha body types have a danger of falling into a rut more than others.

Asian and Latin American style meals are great for kapha. They are spicy and light, free of dairy, and have plenty of vegetables in them.

Things that can imbalance Kapha body types:

* inertia

* too much fat in the diet, including oil we cook with!

* dairy products

* not enough stimulation and challenge

* not enough variety

* not enough exercise

* too much bread, iced foods and drinks, and sweets

Low cost health insurance - knowing the terms and alternatives

Paying for health care can consume a large portion of an individual or family’s disposable income. Some costs are non-negotiable but there are ways to lower the amount you spend on insuring your health.

Deductibles

You may be able to pay a lower premium by paying a higher deductible. This is particularly true if you are insured as an individual rather than through your employer. If you choose this option it is wise to place a portion of the money saved on your premium into an account which is used solely to pay your deductible.

Co-pay amount

Many companies have lower premium policies available for those willing to make a higher co-payment when they visit the doctor. Opting for a higher co-payment can be especially advantageous for people who don’t often visit the doctor.

Generic drugs

Generic drugs are manufactured to the same standards as brand name drugs. Choosing to have a prescription filled with a generic drug can offer substantial savings over having it filled with a brand name drug.

Healthy living programs

Many insurance plans offer pre-emptive health care services which are entirely funded by the insurance company. Employee plans often do this as a way of avoiding paying for higher priced services later on down the line. Programs may include free immunizations, mammograms, prostate exams and general physicals. Paying a portion of monthly health club dues is also available on a few plans. Be sure to take advantage of these options if possible.

Remember, while health insurance premiums are high the peace of mind brought by knowing you

and your family are insured is priceless. Gathering as many quotes as possible is the best way to learn and compare companies.

Car repair prices why your oil change is never just an oil change

For a repair shop, there is little profit in the $29.95 oil change. By the time a shop pays its technician, pays for the oil, the filter, and the hazardous waste disposal fees, there’s no money left.

This low profit margin is worsened by the extremely competitive “Quick Lube” business, which forces local repair shops to refrain from raising prices, despite rising costs.

This all begs the question: If oil change specials, which range from $15.95 to $29.95, clearly produce very low profits, then why do so many service facilities advertise oil change specials?

The answer is actually very simple: It gets you in the door. Service centers know that once they have your vehicle, they can sell you additional work.

Suggesting additional work is called upselling, and it’s a primary profit tactic of every service facility.

Here’s a typical example. You drop your vehicle off for “just an oil change.” Upon completion your service representative smiles and proudly states, “We noticed that your air filter was dirty; so we popped in a new one.” You may think "Great; what wonderful service!”

What really occurred is that you were casually upsold an air filter. It probably wasn’t needed; it certainly wasn’t replaced according to any factory recommendation, and you were definitely overcharged for what was most likely a poorly-fitting, aftermarket, inferior air filter.

Here’s a real-life example that occurred recently. This particular vehicle had 54,000 miles on it, and was dropped off at a local shop for “just an oil change.” Upon paying the bill, the customer was handed an estimate for $199 to replace his air filter and top radiator hose.

Shocked at the price, he called me.

After review, I found that the air filter suggestion was premature. It didn’t need replacement until the manufacturer’s recommended 60,000-mile service interval. The top hose was also premature. In fact, it did not need replacement at all, despite a very minor problem easily addressed during the factory maintenance schedule—at no extra cost.

Check out the aftermarket part prices quoted below (including the unnecessary radiator hose). Compare these to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the factory OEM parts (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

Local Shop Aftermarket Air Filter: $32

Manufacturer OEM Filter, MSRP: $17

Local Shop Aftermarket Top Hose: $36

Manufacturer OEM Top Hose, MSRP: $19

Notice that this local shop was doubling the price of the OEM parts with its inferior aftermarket parts.

Now, let’s look at the labor time quoted.

Local Shop Labor Time: 2.0 @ $60 per hour = $120

Manufacturer Labor Time: 0.9 @ $60 per hour = $81

Notice that the shop labor time estimate for the repairs was 2 hours. This is more than "twice" the manufacturer’s recommendations (even after calculating manufacturer times against the industry standard multiplier).

Had the local shop abided by the vehicle’s particular maintenance intervals instead of trying to make a quick buck, it should have recommended a 60,000-mile service at the next visit. This would have better served the client, saved him $199, and maintained the vehicle properly.

Instead, the service center lost a customer, forever!

What needs to be made crystal clear is that this type of price-gouging occurs every day in every type of service facility in one form or another across the automotive service industry.

This type of price-gouging is considered normal!

Teen dating violence what every child and parent must know

:
If there ever was any doubt in your mind where adult domestic violence has its’ roots-put your inquisitive mind at rest. It starts with our kids!! In a recent study partnered by Teenage Research Unlimited and the Liz Claiborne Corp., teens 13-18 were surveyed on the frequency of dating violence in their lives.

The study revealed some shocking statistics and facts about the teen dating scene. Among many conclusions are that a significant percentage of teens not only are victims of dating abuse but also they accept it as normal and that they feel pressured to have and keep relationships particularly if it is a “serious” one.

Teens in these serious relationships report by nearly a 2 to 1 margin more abuse, controlling and even violent behavior compared to other teens.

The study also showed that:
 20% in a serious relationship report being hit, slapped or pushed
 30% report being worried about their physical safety
 64% report controlling behavior
 55% compromise their values to please their partner
 61% reported having a partner who made them feel bad or embarrassed about themselves
 25% report being in a relationship where their partner put them down or called them names
 29% said they were pressured to have sex they do not want.
 50% of young women worry that their partner will break up with them if they do not agree to engage in sex

It is no wonder that this problem exists with teenage male belief systems that include:
 Controlling their partners
 Possessing their partners
 Demanding intimacy
 Physical aggression is the “masculine” thing to do

Teenage female beliefs include:
 There’s no resource for help
 Abuse is normal because their peers are abused
 Jealousy, possessiveness and even abuse are “romantic”

Historically other studies and surveys support these findings. This serves as pretty solid evidence that teenagers grow up in a society that frowns on adult domestic violence, yet it appears they serve their apprenticeships in high school learning the nuances of how to abuse. Do they learn on their own or do they learn from their abusive parents? It is a very difficult question to answer nevertheless the cycle must be broken. Today’s youth represent the best chance to make a change.

Here’s how to start. Educate and Prevent.

Know Some Warning Signs. Is there a history of violence with previous partners? Are there threats of violence, use of force? Is there cruelty to animals? Are traits of sudden anger, jealousy, verbal abuse, controlling behavior, unpredictable mood swings present? All or any of these can be predictors of future behavior and definite warning signs.

Set Standards. Only allow double dates for the first few dates. Know exactly what the plans are-who, where, what, when-be very specific. Remember: Trust but Verify. You love your children. It is your responsibility to set the standards for their actions.

Develop a Safety Plan. In an emergency know who to call: police, relative, parents, friend, neighbor, pastor-have a calling card handy. Know who you can trust to talk to. Develop a buddy system at school so you are never alone. Change your route to school if necessary. Carry some non lethal self defense items-pepper spray, personal defense alarms, etc. Trust your instincts.

Above all be prepared. Knowing what to look for and keeping an open mind may end up saving you a lot of pain.

The trials and tribulations of a rookie nfl player

Professional football players probably started practicing football at early ages. With all the new technological advances, such a game simulators, future pro football players are able to perfect the game-play long before the big draft. As almost everyone knows, practice makes perfect, so if a pro football player wants be the absolute best he can be, then he must play, play, and play some more. Rookie NFL players almost never start out dominating games and playing like the more experienced players. It takes a while for them to get used to the game, the players, as well as different climates. This is especially true if an NFL player’s hometown is in a warm climate. Playing in the National Football League requires the players to play all over the United Stated, exposing them to all types of climates. So, if a pro player is from Nevada or Florida and he plays for the first time in Chicago, and the temperature is in the twenties or it’s snowing, then he will feel very strange until he gets accustomed to the weather differences. This can be true in the opposite way as well. Say for instance a player is from Wyoming, where it is usually cold and snowy in late fall and winter. So if they play in Florida and it is 60 degrees in December, they may be hotter than the other players until they get used to the warmth.

A brand new professional football player also has to get used to things that most people wouldn’t even think about, such as his football uniform and helmet. These items may feel foreign, weird and very uncomfortable, until he ‘breaks in’ the uniform and gets used to wearing a hard, cumbersome object on his head. The first time a rookie NFL quarterback gets tackled, he will certainly realize the importance of wearing the helmet and the bulky uniform with all the padding. He will also certainly appreciate the protection that the objects provide, which may help him to get used to wearing them even sooner.

Additionally, there are other major changes that a new NFL player must become accustomed to. All the travel involved is one major one. The rookie may be quite close to their family members and being away from home can be extremely hard, especially during their very first season. This is even truer if the NFL player attended a local university instead of going to one out of state.

The stock market and forex trading

More books and articles have been written on the stock market than on perhaps any other business subject in the world.

Most of these have as their purpose instructing the reader on exactly how he can invest to make a sizable amount of money, and if he really applies himself, how he can become rich in either three or five years.

One of the most useful books written appeared in 1961. It did not tell you how to get rich. It emphasized the difficulties of investing in the stock market and it performed a tremendous service in this way, plus isolating the significant factors which record and explain the ups and downs of the market.

To invest in the market by following the procedures outlined in that book is anything but easy.

It requires a considerable amount of work every day the stock market is in operation. The book is written more for the professional investor to tell him how to make maximum profits out of both the rises and falls of the market.

The average investor will not take the time or perform the work necessary to maximize his profits, and he is satisfied with something less than maximum profits over a period of time. It is this type of person that we are writing for, not the professional investor who often spends 100% of his time on investments. We are, furthermore, writing for the smaller investor, not for the larger, professional one.

When we talk about the stock market we are not trying to write one more treatise on how to get wealthy in the stock market.

We do not present it as the only outlet for funds, although it certainly is for many people who know only the stock market on the one hand and the savings bank on the other. We treat the stock market as one outlet for funds, an outlet that can be almost the only good outlet at certain times, and a terrible outlet at other times one that offers too much risk.

In 1960 the stock market for the non-professional investor was, in my opinion, a substandard investment. Other investments in my portfolio yielded 12% and 14% and sent checks monthly, and the underlying businesses grew stronger while a number of the major firms listed on the Stock Exchanges showed declining profits and the trend of the market was down until late in the year. An inexpert investor in the stock market during most of the year 1960 would have had the cards stacked against him.

If we consider investments primarily of the loan type, those in which a person or organization is obligated to return a given number of dollars, plus a profit, over a period of months or years. Above everything, the proper investigation of these risks and safeguards against losses have been stressed.

The stock market is good for long term investing especially through investment trusts

and unit trusts.

Forex is more risky but greater profits can be made. Good software will help you to reduce the risks if you trade the Forex.

I used money from my home equity loan to pay off some of my personal debts. can i deduct interest

In some instances, it is possible for individuals to deduct the interest of such home equity loans on their state and federal taxes, which are, or at least should be, filed annually the Internal Revenue Service.

Despite the fact that the money can be used for reasons other than to buy, build or improve an individual's place of residency or home, the debt for which the home equity loan is used may still allow the loan's interest to qualify as home equity debt. No matter how the individual uses the money that they received as a home equity loan, the interest that is paid by the individual each year can be deducted on the individual's taxes in an itemized list. However, there are limitations that have been placed on the individuals who do so when it comes to the amount of money they can deduct on their taxes in relation to the interest that they have paid on their home equity loans.

These interest amount limitations are based on the individual and are put in place regarding the amount of money the individual pays in interest on their home equity loan each tax year. A couple may deduct up to $100,000 in interest from their home equity loan each year on their taxes. An individual who is married but filing jointly from their spouse may deduct half of this amount annually, provided the individual is able to meet the other criteria and regulations set forth by the Internal Revenue Service. These individuals may only deduct a total of up to $50,000 on their taxes.

A home equity loan is very different from a home equity line of credit and it is important to note this when filing taxes since there are separate requirements and paperwork that needs to be done for each. Despite the fact that they sound similar, the two loans have different things that affect them, including interest. When individuals use their home equity loan money in order to take care of certain aspects of their home or in order to pay off some of their personal loans or debts, the money can be deducted up to the $100,000 or $50,000 limits. These limits are put into place as a generalization. Some other limitations may be put on individuals if they meet certain other criteria.

These limitations can be determined by tax professionals on a case by case basis, but it is important to note that the cap for interest deductions for home equity loans are stopped at $100,000 for couples, or $50,000 for married individuals who are filing their taxes separately. Regardless of the amount that the individual can deduct from their taxes, the interest needs to be deducted on the 1040 form, Schedule A. The interest needs to be placed under the itemized deductions.

Investment basic what does successful investing require

Successful investing requires knowledge, time and commitment, discipline and patience, and the ability to develop an investment strategy that is compatible with your personality.

Knowledge

Each individual must consider what he knows when planning an investment strategy. Recognizing your current level of knowledge, and how you will acquire the additional wisdom you need, are all-important factors.

Time and commitment

How much time are you willing to spend monitoring your portfolio? This is a critical question. An individual's investment plan should be based on his level of interest in ensuring personal financial success. The more diversified a portfolio is, and the more complex your strategy, the more time you will need. To be successful, an investor mush map out a strategy that carefully matches his own personality and level of commitment.

Discipline

Although many investors start with an approach that will work for them, the ability to maintain discipline eludes far too many people. This is caused by a variety of psychological issues, led by fear and greed, that tend to dominate predetermined financial strategies. During various stages of a stock market, different investment styles will work better than others. Sometimes a value approach will be in favor. Other times a growth or momentum style to accommodate the market.

Patience

The last trait for successful investing is patience. Without it, your returns will be more limited. Warren Buffett reminds us that it takes nine months for a woman to deliver a baby. Investments usually take more time to work out than most people consider. Once you plan an investment strategy that complements your personality, managing a portfolio should be simple. The challenge will be to follow the game plan and to remain disciplined.

An investor who establishes varying time frames for holding different types of securities will be much less inclined to lose patience in well researched ideas. This type of analysis will also assist the investor from "holding too long," while watching his momentum idea fall out of favor and create large losses.

Choosing among the many custom florida home builder companies

Anyone who has recently bought property in the southwestern region of the state is acutely aware of just how many development and individual housing projects are underway through Florida home builder companies across the counties of this region. While the homes are almost always of the highest quality and the designs are luxurious and spacious, the bottom line is that there are simply too many contractors in the region from which to choose.

Most of the projects in the region are already well underway, but just when you thought one more project was finally being completed, yet another one pops up in an area where there was once a simple green area. From the sheer volume of the building projects, it is obvious that there is an overabundance of contractors and builders in the region. However, since they are all being kept so busy, it is not always obvious which ones are of superior quality and which ones are merely satisfactory.

In a region where there are not so many real estate projects underway, it becomes clear quite quickly which companies are of top quality and which ones are not. The companies that are always working are the ones who are known to be the best in the area. When it comes to Florida home builder companies, this tactic cannot be used because all of the companies are always hard at work due to the sheer volume of demand for building work.

Hopefully, anyone looking to build in the region has been put in contact with a reliable and talented building company through a friend or family member in the region. Finding a contractor through this method is usually the best way to ensure that you find someone to whom you wish to entrust your project.

On the other hand, many people entering the real estate market of the southwestern coastal region are completely new to the region. If this is the case for you, you will have to rely on advice from real estate agents and from anyone new you have met in the region in order to start choosing the best Florida home builder for you. If you have to choose a contractor in this manner, it is also a good idea to take a look online to find out which companies are well-respected (both in service and workmanship) when it comes to contract builders.

One good option to check out online is Hunter Homes in the region around Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Naples, Venice, Port Charlotte, and Englewood. This region is certainly one of the booming Floridian markets with many Florida home builder options in the area, so taking a good hard look online before taking any action is a really good idea. This company is family run and specializes in personalized service alongside professional and impressive workmanship. Visit myhunterhomes. com to see some of their luxurious home designs and read more about their personalized business style.

Why should i bother with optimised online copywriting

It's no good having a creative, individual website with brilliant, informative copy if customers can't find you on the internet. On the other hand, it's also detrimental if you have a website that can be easily found (has a high ranking) but people become bored and alienated reading it.

Producing effective online copywriting is a creative process blending art and science in a balanced technique combining many different elements. This integration of disciplines is required to satisfy both the technical and the aesthetic objectives of a website.

Optimised online copywriting should ensure that your website is:

• highly readable to your viewers

• highly visible to the search engines, and thereby

• commercially successful for you.

Many people and businesses don't have the time to actually write web copy themselves. A professional freelance copywriter can furnish you with keyword-rich, highly original web content to enhance and improve the quality of your website, with the aim of transforming more of your visitors into customers.

Rarely will you get a second chance to engage your customer's attention, so your first shot must be formatted for maximum sales potential, catching the eye of the search engine robots as well. But not too much… If your copy goes overboard in favour of the search engines it can earn a penalty from Google that will negatively effect your rankings. Your website must always have the reader as priority. This makes more business sense anyway.

Search engines provide a way for potential customers to find you on the internet. People type a keyphrase or keyword into a search engine, such as Google, Yahoo or MSN (or one of the many other popular engines) and this returns a page of listings - web page suggestions for that particular phrase or word. Obviously, you want your website to feature highly in this list.

Optimised online copywriting specifically targets the words and phrases people are using when searching for a product on the internet (Search Engine Marketing (SEM), keyword research). You want to make sure your website stays at the top of the listings so people go to your website before others. With targeted copy in place, search engines are more likely to index your web site on page one, than if it does not include keyword-rich copy. This is an ever more important issue when dealing with Google, the leading search-engine today.

To rank highly in the search engines the words on your web pages should never be an afterthought, but should be included right at the beginning in the original design of your website. Content development is the most valuable asset web developers can utilise in the bid for productive, successful search engine optimisation and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).

Hiring a professional copywriter is a wise investment in your business future. Even if you don’t want to optimise your site you should make sure that the words on your site are reasonable, enticing, spelled correctly and artfully arranged to engage attention. Just because you can type letters or write some emails doesn't mean you can write the copy for your website. The writing on your homepage is often the way people determine whether the website is a scam or the genuine article, good quality or a shabby affair. Your website’s credibility takes a nose-dive if the spelling is wrong, the grammar incorrect, or it just reads like bad, clumsy English. People will be disinclined to trust your content.

Within the search engines new technologies and algorithms are being developed all the time to make search methodologies smarter, more astute. It's never a coincidence when someone types in a search phrase and your website is indexed highly on the page. Keyword rich online copywriting is a significant and critical component in gaining high rankings on the search engines.

Recently, Google has been pioneering a new trend of intelligent search engines which are not attracted by mere repetition of words throughout the text, but which look for meaning, attempting to make grammatical sense of the information, trying to understand what the web page is actually saying. This is forcing webmasters to improve the content on their web pages or suffer the consequences. The old saying has never been more relevant: "content is king."

Online sports betting

After the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2005 (H. R.4777) was amended with the Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act (H. R.4411) passed to Senate on July 13, 2006 by the House, there as been too much speculation about online sports betting.

Commonly referred as the Leach-Goodlatte Act after Congressmen who introduced those anti-gambling initiatives, Jim Leach (R-Iowa) and Bob Goodlatte (R-Virginia.), many questions about its viability have been asked so far. Preventing the use of some payment instruments and fund transfers for unlawful Internet gambling has been a major concern for Congress since a while.

Since its introduction in the early 1990s, the Internet gambling industry has grown considerably, spawning a number of new careers, however, U. S. Senator Bill Frist stated that "this industry threatens to undermine the quality of life of millions of Americans by bringing an addictive behavior right into our living rooms..."

Online sports betting is in fact a way to enjoy from the comfort of your own home an activity that otherwise is only available through land-based casinos and sporting venues in states of America where gambling is legal. Sports books operators consider that banning gambling is not a solution.

While roulette and card games such as poker, blackjack and bridge can be truly addictive, online sports betting is a territory where small-stakes players go for up to $10 tournaments, which may not be considered an addictive behavior. Online sports books are more likely a sort of therapy to relax after a stressful working day.

Nevertheless, several professional sports organizations, such as the NBA, NHL and the NFL didn't see the things from the same approach. Professional sports teams joined to the claim of getting banned online sports betting in the United States, arguing that college students are vulnerable to this costly addiction, specially those who are enrolled in a college sports team.

Most of the actual Internet sports books operate from offshore locations where gambling is not illegal, such as occurs in many Central American, Caribbean and European countries. Even though, a large number of Sports betting operators are American with online activities aimed to American bettors.

Online sports betting comprises diverse sporting activities such as football, basketball, baseball and soccer, accepting U. S. currency and the uncertainty of Internet Gambling banning in America floating in the air.

Only time will tell what will happen in the online sports betting industry due to the recent legislation passed here in the United States. While some have already closed their doors to U. S. customers, others are waiting to find a loophole to allow U. S. citizens to continue gambling online.

Of stocks stockholders and stock market

A copper mining enterprise Stora Kopparberg first introduced the system of stock in the 13th century. The financial backers and owners felt the need to raise money for investment in the new projects of the same company so they started the method of stock and shares. It was also required in order to ward off the threat to the ownership rights if the company was sold, which would mean complete loss of control.

The investors got the monetary support they were looking for and at the same time solved ownership issues in case the company was sold by granting stocks to the people. Plus, they sold a part to people and still retained control over the company. Thus, the owner had some portion of the assets, some power to make decision conditionally. In return, they shared a part of the profit with the stockowner as dividend.

Financially, stock implies the ownership or share in a corporation. It gives the stockowner the right to claim a share in the assets and income of the corporation. The two types of stocks, preferred and common differ in many respects. The common stock owners can vote at the shareholders' meetings whereas the preferred stockowners cannot vote. Common stockowners get dividends declared by the company, whereas preferred stock owners have higher claim in assets and income of the company. Preferred stock entitles the owner to have his dividends earlier than the common stock owner. Preferred stock owner gets the priority when the company goes bankrupt. Besides these two, the other types of stock are dual class shares and treasury stock.

A stockowner is not liable to losses in case the company closes and has loans to pay back. The loss of the stockholders is limited to the money that would have been made by converting the assets into cash since all the money would be used to repay the loans to the creditors.

A stock exchange is the place where trading of shares is carried out. Individuals and companies sell and purchase shares on a large scale. Generally, a particular company trades only in one specific market and is said to be on the list of that particular stock exchange. However, big multinational companies can be listed on many stock exchanges. This is called inter-listed shares.

There are various methods to buy or sell finance stocks, but the commonest among them is through the mediator called stockbroker, who actually transfers the shares from one owner to another. Stocks can be bought directly from the company also.

The stock market of a country is an indicator of its economy, which just goes to show the growth and power of the stock market.

Buying classic chevy trucks

Chevy trucks aficionados are not just after the newer trucks built by Chevrolet. They are also into oldies but goodies trucks that have been magnificently preserved for long years. In fact, one can still find Chevy trucks made some 60 to 70 years ago. The vintage sensation that a classic Chevy truck bring is something invaluable.

For so many decades, Chevrolet proved that their makes are still the most loved by Americans. Consider the wonderful cruising that a Chevy truck gives. Plus the unimaginable sensation of driving a Chevy truck off road. Maybe regarded to be as satisfying.

When buying a classic Chevy truck, prefer the 1955-57 models. Chevy trucks during these times are gorgeous, solid and hard. Not to mention the heavy masculine inclination of the designs. Classic Chevy trucks during these years are really worth the price.

Art Deco trucks have its distinctive look for a Chevy truck. These trucks have marvelous front grills. These were made sometime from 1941 to 1946. However, many hot rodders prefer the 1955 to 1957 models.

Chevy trucks of the 1960’s were some what remakes of the 1950’s. Maintaining the muscular details and clean look and cutting only some small details. These trucks were out from 1960 to 1966. The next batch, 1967-1972 Chevy truck models, was more developed in terms of design but with plain

look.

Buying a classic Chevy truck is like purchasing a new one. You need to think of the qualifications and set high standards. You also need to inspect the Chevy trucks for any damage or unwanted parts. Here are suggestions on what to do in inspecting your desired classic Chevy truck:

• Prepare several questions that will help you in arriving at your desired model. You may ask yourself what year and model you want to purchase, the design, the price, etc.

• Call the owner or the selling company and ask for the history of the truck. The history includes the age of the truck, the number of times it has undergone repair and so on. Do not rely on the answers on the phone. Visit the company or the owner and propose a test drive. That move will prove whether the seller is really telling the truth.

• Make an appointment with your mechanic. Tell him that you are to bring a truck for inspection. Make sure you are in the shop during the inspection.

• Do a general check up on the truck. You may not like your prospective truck to have leaks, rust, old hoses, etc.

• Look for past repair documentation. This must be provided by the selling company or the owner. This document is very important so that you may not have any hassle to find out what is really wrong with the truck.

• Set a price according to the inspection, the test drive and the history. Make sure that, whatever price you may end up with, you are still the most benefited.

Remember that you buy a classic Chevy truck not for long distance travel or heavy work loads but only for fun. You buy one to have the unexplainable feelings that other classic Chevy truck owners profess. Make sure also that you are satisfied with the result of the inspection made by your mechanic. Bear in mind also that you are buying a vintage car and not rubbish.

Powerful referral networks - build a powerful referral network and they will come

As solo business owners, we sometimes feel like “Lone Rangers” on our own, trying to figure out ways to bring in more clients. A business owner’s survival and growth depends largely on bringing in new clients. Who wants to be alone on the range, single-handedly trying to figure out how to bring in clients and expand business? That takes tremendous energy, and hard work to produce average results.

Instead of operating on your own, there are ways to creating a sales force of people happy to refer business to you. Think about how big companies increase their sales. They have large sales forces out there selling their products. The sales people are educated about the product, calling on prospects, and are paid commissions based on the number of accounts they bring in. One of the differences between a big company and you is that YOU are the “one.” You are your sales force, that is, if you operate as a “Lone Ranger.”

An effective way of creating your sales force is through your referral network. A referral network is a group of people who already know you, understand your business, and can refer people interested in buying your product or service. With a powerful referral network, an unlimited flow of quality prospects start coming to you quickly and effortlessly. You never have to cold-call again! This is the easiest and most effective way to establish an ongoing stream of warm leads.

Building a referral network begins with educating people you already know, your clients, colleagues, friends, and people you meet. You want to clearly articulate what you do, who your ideal client is, how your product or service helps your clients, and what’s unique about working with you. Once these people are educated about your product, they become your own “sales force.” However, just like any sales force, it helps to motivate them to sell by giving them something special as a thank you.

Consider offering a referral fee or a special gift to those people who refer business to you. People will be motivated to refer business to you, if they’re rewarded for it. I know, as a sales person, what motivated me the most to bring in those sales was the commission check I received at the end of the month. And, I still love receiving those checks. I’ve been referring business to a colleague and I’m delighted when I receive a thank you note and check from him. It’s an incentive to think of other people who can benefit from his service.

By organizing a healthy referral network, you’re going to be able to rely on other people out in the world, all educated about the merits of your product or service, willing to become your marketing machine.

Here are six steps to follow that will help you set up a powerful referral network.

1. Change Your Mindset: For some people, there’s hesitancy when it comes to asking for referral business. We have thoughts like, “They won’t want to help me,” or “How do I even ask?” Before you project these fears, step back and consider. If a customer’s satisfied with you, they’re delighted to help you out. Also, people in your personal and professional circle who believe in you, want to help you grow.

2. Be Proactive: Rather than waiting for people to offer referrals, ask, because more than likely, they don’t think to offer. Occasionally, they may say to you “I told my friend about you.” It’s really great when that happens, but don’t rely on it.

3. Write What You Want to Say: To help you gain confidence, write the words you want to say. Then practice saying it aloud until you’re comfortable with it. We all feel uncomfortable doing something new. It’s just like going to the health club and working out. You have to use that muscle over and over again in order to build strength. It’s the same thing with asking for referrals.

4. When to Ask a Client: The best time to ask a client for a referral is immediately after you’ve received a compliment, and/or once the sale is closed. Once your client utters the words, “I’m happy working with you. I really have enjoyed this.” That’s your cue to ask if there’s anyone else they know who would benefit in the same way from your services.

5. Referrals Fees: Establish a referral program whereby people receive a referral fee or special gift for the people they refer to you. Let your referral network know in advance what they can expect in return for their referrals. Giving referrals works both ways. If people refer business to you, tell them you will do the same for them.

6. Keep Track: Once the steady flow of referrals starts coming in, it’s time to start managing all these leads in an organized manner. There are several software programs designed to you help track your business and referrals. Outlook, ACT, and Goldmine are several software programs to check out.

ASSIGNMENT

* Write a clear and compelling message of what you do, who your ideal client is, how your product or service helps your clients, and what’s unique about working with you.

* Practice saying it aloud and role play with a buddy until you are comfortable saying the words.

* Start calling the people in your personal and professional circle, educate them about what you do, and invite them to be part of your “Referral Network.”

* Ask your buddy to role play being the client and practice “asking for a referral.”

* Create a “referral fee or special gift” program you can start offering to your clients, colleagues, friends, and people you meet.

Why is dubai swarmed by celebrities

If you looked on the various news headlines emerging from the Middle East, you will notice a substantial shift taking place in the manner they have been reporting about this region as a whole. From various military coups to the stories of political vendetta; from gun totting hostage takers to the unnerving interpretation of Islam; and from the so-called lack of democratization to the non existent human rights, the Middle East has always had to bear the brunt of hostile news reporting. But, the emerging trade and commerce and tourism activities in Dubai are fundamentally changing this long held stereotyped interpretation of the Muslim world now.

Don't be surprised therefore, if the British footballer David Beckham and the Spice Girl Victoria are seen walking out of one of its famous five star hotels, or if the reigning formula one champion Michael Schumacher is spotted unwinding somewhere on its breathtaking shorelines. You will also come to notice some very famous names from the corporate world making regular rounds of this famous city. From top cine stars to sports celebrities and from the multi-billion empire holders to the average holiday making freaks, all are increasingly being seen on Dubai's soil these days. This in itself, speaks a lot of how dramatically the world's vision of the Middle East has transformed.

The next round of Dubai Tennis Championships to be held in February and March 2007 will be another treat for the tennis lovers and the media managers both. Names like the William sisters - Serena and Venus and Andre Agassi have played on this venue and enthralled the audiences in the recent past. Equally reported have had been the events like a friendly match organized between Andre Agassi and Roger Federer on the helipad of Burj Al Arab hotel. Tennis balls kept falling down inside the Arabian sea as the two players proceeded with some of their favourite strokes. Not too behind was Tiger Woods who made use of the same helipad for his golf practice. Woods was in Dubai to take part in the Dubai Desert Classic and couldn't resist the temptation of practicing on such a breathtaking height.

If the celebrity spotting has become one of the new trends in Dubai's social life, then so is the emerging competition among the hotel owners for making the best out of this pulsating market. They are making all efforts, like building of more niche hotels, to cap this upscale clientele. This means exclusively targeting the business travellers and the multimillionaires from across the globe. Apart from Dubai, Lebanon and Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt have also been trying to raise their stakes. However, the former is well ahead in the race involving these three.

Dubai's desire of opening its borers to the outside world has been well received and reciprocated by the latter. As a result we are witnessing the very fundamental image of the Middle East taking a new turn in the global environment. By allowing so many expatriates on its soil, Dubai has made its friendly intentions clear. Expatriates will continue on playing a crucial role in the local economy, hence making the exchange of the Arabian peninsula with the outside world stronger. It speaks of a pleasing scenario, which will continue to get on more shades with each passing day.

How to stop ebay auction sniping

Every day, hapless bidders get beaten to the punch by auction snipers who jump in at the last minute. I know how annoying it can be, as I once had it happen to me three times in a row on the same item! The thing is that the only people who can help the poor bidders are us, the sellers.

The Problem.

Bidders will bid on an item and then wait for days until it finishes, only to have someone else outbid them at the last minute. In a traditional auction at a real auction house, this isn’t a problem at all, as the auction keeps going until everyone has bid as much as they want to, and the auctioneer double-checks with the classic phrase “going, going, gone”.

The problem on eBay is caused by the fixed length of time that eBay’s auctions last, and the fact that they aren’t extended significantly if someone places a new bid in the last few seconds of the auction. Imagine if a real auction house worked that way, letting people shout “50 cents more!” at the last second and win an item. It would simply be unfair, and many buyers think it’s unfair on eBay too.

The Solutions.

Until eBay decide to fix the problem (and by now it’s looking unlikely that they ever will), you’re the only one who can do anything for your buyers.

First off, you can encourage your buyers to use eBay’s proxy bidding system the way it was intended. The idea of the system is that they enter the maximum they’re willing to pay for an item and eBay places bids for them automatically up to that maximum. They’re not supposed to come back and bid an extra dollar every time they get outbid.

If your bidders are bidding high enough, then no sniper will even come along and beat them – because they will have set the maximum snipe level in their sniping software to less than the normal bidder’s maximum. Changing the way people use eBay is hard, though.

One alternative is to keep an eye on who’s bidding on your auction, and cancel bids from known snipers – but this requires you to be around right at the end of the auction to cancel their bids. You might also want to set your auction to end sometime when bidders will be around so that they can outbid snipers themselves. This is good business sense anyway – most of the bidding always takes place in the last few hours of an auction.

An easier way to thwart bid snipers is to offer ‘Second Chance’ sales to bidders who get outbid by a sniper at the last minute. This is good for you, and for them – they still get to buy the item they wanted, and you’ve just made two sales: one to the sniper and one to them.

Once you’ve sold your items, though, you might be upset to find that one of them gets returned for a refund. Our next email will show you how to turn these returns into profits!
